Response of Shear Flow Turbulence to Diffusional Electromagnetic Fluctuations, Applied Mathematical Modeling, 14, pp.226-236

ABSTRACT
The expansion of the applicability of the stress transport models, as well as the derived algebraic models, to the laminarization of high turbulent Reynolds number turbulence in magnetohydrodynamic flows is suggested here. Three test cases of shear flow subjected to three differently oriented magnetic fields are elaborated, and the influence of the diffusional magnetic field fluctuations on the hydrodynamic turbulence anisotropy is studied. Local equilibrium solutions are used to derive eddy viscosities of the three cases, taking into account the electromagnetic effects. Finally, an algebraic stress model is elaborated for channel flow in which the magnet is parallel to the flow direction.
